CEO and Co-founder
Ching-Ho is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Parature. His entrepreneurial career began as the Co-founder of Performix Inc., a Virginia-based software company focused on load testing for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. In 1995, Performix was successfully sold to Pure Software founded by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings. Pure Software then merged with Atria to form Pure Atria, which was then acquired by Rational Software. Rational Software was then acquired by IBM in 2003.
Following the sale of Performix, Ching-Ho became an active angel investor. He was the first investor in Blackboard, Inc. which went public in 2004 and was acquired by Providence Equity Partners in 2011. Ching-Ho co-founded Parature in 2000. From 2002 to 2003, he served on the Board of Directors of Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology, and also served as chairman of the Greater Washington Chapter of the Monte Jade DC Science and Technology Association.
From 2006 – 2007, Ching-Ho was the CEO of Blackboard China in Beijing. In 2009, he served as Interim CEO of Leadtone, also in Beijing. Since 2008, he has been an NEA venture partner.
At Parature, Ching-Ho Fung is known to all as CHF (pronounced by Paraturians as “Chef”). Outside of work, he enjoys golf, tennis and travel.
Ching-Ho holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
